Q. Is it safe to gat a tattoo?

A. One can never guarantee 100% as there are multiple variables one needs to factor in one's assessment prior to getting a tattoo. Disturbed Ink Tattoo Studio can recommend that thorough research is done before choosing the tattoo artist. Main focus points refer to mainly sterile and industry standard equipment be used on each procedure being conducted. Secondly it is non negotiable that visible medical waste certification is displayed and bylaws be adhered to in regards to the disposal of medical waste. It is extremely important to ensure that all equipment is within the valid CE certification date of sterilisation. Q. How do you choose your tattoo?

A. This is an excellent point for debate. In my experience I have learned that a well trained tattoo artist will have a positive influence on your final decision compared to untrained persons who more often than not just do not have the knowledge to provide input into the idea you as the client present. In most cases the design is limited to very basic shapes and sizes. In some instances it is just poor choice on behalf of the client. So research your ideas and remember it is costly to cover up bad tattoos and or to remove the poor pigments by means of laser treatment.

Q. How much does a tattoo cost?

A. I would strongly advise not to concern yourself with cost. Remember it is a client base service. Tattoo artists like any professional have overheads to cover. To create a safe environment for clients cost money. Decent equipment is costly, add to that cost of electricity, good quality ink, time and skills. There is no price that one can place on good health services and a tattoo procedure is a medical procedure and bidy modification. I do advise that you plan your idea together with the tattoo artist. Bigger art pieces can be broken into multiple sessions to assist to break the total cost into currency/per sitting. This way in my experience makes a tattoo project a fun an cost effective way to get your skin art. Remember to ask yourself how much it will cost to cover a bad tattoo and treat scarring of tissue.

Q. How do I take care of a fresh tattoo?

A. It is important to purchase a cream, salve or ointment that contains an antiseptic ingredient. Try to stick to industry standard antiseptic creams eg Johnson & Johnson Savlon antiseptic cream. Give your tattoo a good wash with antibacterial soap and water to get rid of excess ink and blood. Dry with clean paper towel. Once washed and dried apply the cream on the tattoo. Make sure your hands are washed thoroughly with antibacterial soap and water. Do not over apply the cream and stick to the directions on the manufacturer' user instructions. Make sure to read instructions and make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. It is recommended that you speak to your pharmacy prior to application to ensure safety and avoid side effects. Do not soak in bath water as you want to avoid any chance of infection. Stay out of swimming pools and the ocean until the tattoo is healed to satisfaction. Do not expose your new tattoo to long time periods while healing. The final product cannot be guaranteed if you do not take care of your tattoo. Apply these simple steps to enjoy your tattoo experience.

Q. What can I do when something goes wrong?

A. Based on my experience  What one must do if infection or if any reaction is visible or occur. I recommend to go consult your General Practitioner immediately. Tattoo artists are not medically trained to treat infected wounds and there are no regulatory bodies in place that regulate the industry standard in terms of medical liability and insurance. Do not rely on a tattoo artist for medical advice or treatment of any wound.
